O Sr. Frits Schuitemaker, coordenador na Holanda do projecto "Villages of Tradition" e que esteve recentementemente de visita a Boassas, mandou-nos uma mensagem com o seguinte teor:
"I want to tell the people of Boassas that they live in a beautifull village which, very much has deserved the title 'village of tradition'. The quality is still very good and great, but... they have to take care, because many valuable things will disappear if you don't pay attention. I understand it that some things have no value at the moment, but realise that they will have value in the future, and they also have value for people from other countries, from other cultures. So be proud on what you have and keep it in good condition; this will attract people/tourist and they do spend money in the hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. so this will give new impulses to the liveability.
I hope to visit Boassas again within a short time.

Vamos tentar traduzir da melhor forma possível, pedindo desde já desculpa por algum erro. O nosso inglês não é "brilhante".
"Gostaria de dizer às pessoas de Boassas que vivem numa aldeia muito bonita, que em muitos aspectos merece o epíteto de "Village of Tradition". A qualidade é ainda muita e grande, mas... vocês têm que tomar cuidado, pois muitas coisas valiosas irão desaparecer se não tomarem atenção. Eu percebo que achem que muitas coisas não têm valor neste momento, mas acreditem que, no futuro, elas terão muito valor, e tê-lo-ão também para as pessoas de outros países e de outras culturas. Portanto tenham orgulho naquilo que têm e mantenham-no em boas condições. Isto atrairá pessoas/turistas, os quais irão gastar dinheiro na região, em hotéis, restaurantes, lojas, etc. Então, isto irá trazer novos impulsos para a "viabilidade" da aldeia.
Espero visitar Boassas novamente dentro em breve.
